Getting started

SkipSimp says ad detection needs Apple Intelligence

Finding ads uses Apple Intelligence's on-device model. You need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer on iOS 26 or later. Turn it on in Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri. Right after turning it on, your iPhone downloads the model, which can take a while on Wi-Fi; SkipSimp starts checking as soon as it's ready.

How do I bring my shows over from another app?

Export an OPML file from your old podcast app (most have it in their settings), then open Library › ••• › Import OPML in SkipSimp. You can also search for shows or paste a feed URL.

Ad checks

When are episodes checked?

New downloads are checked in the background while your iPhone is charging and not too warm. To check right away, open Up Next, tap the Activity button at the top right and tap “Check … episodes now”. A typical episode takes about a minute.

An episode says it's waiting

The Activity screen tells you why: waiting for the charger, for your iPhone to cool down, or for Low Power Mode to end. Checks pick up where they stopped.

It skipped something that wasn't an ad, or missed one

Open the episode's ad markers from the player, then mark a block as “Not an ad” or use “Mark a missed ad”. With “Learn from my corrections” on, your simp uses this for the show's next episodes.

An episode was checked, but the ads moved

Many shows insert different ads with every download. When SkipSimp notices the file changed, it checks the episode again. Keeping played episodes downloaded avoids repeat checks.

Subscription

What do I get with SkipSimp Pro?

Pro turns on automatic ad skipping, markers and corrections. The player, pause trimming, speed, downloads and widgets are free.

How do I cancel or restore a purchase?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Cancel in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the period ends. On a new iPhone, tap “Restore purchases” in SkipSimp’s Settings.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are granted by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Sync and privacy

My shows don't show up on my other iPhone or iPad

Check that both devices use the same Apple Account and that iCloud is on for SkipSimp in Settings › [your name] › iCloud. Downloads and ad checks stay on each device; shows, positions and markers sync.
